Seeking the welfare of our city while spreading the Gospel around the world. Adopted by the middle school as their theme this year, students are being challenged to consider the needs of others. In our third year of participating in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child mission as a middle school service project, we have set a lofty goal of filling more than 300 boxes.
LCA has adopted this service project for middle schoolers to provide an opportunity for students to learn the value of giving, to foster a sense of global awareness and empathy by providing essential items and gifts to children in need, and to experience servant leadership in action by being “hands-on” while packing the boxes themselves, praying over them, and adding a personalized note at our MS Packing Party on November 12th. Take a look at the video below for a glimpse of this amazing experience for our middle schoolers.
The gift of an OCC shoebox is often the first gift a child receives. These simple boxes of gifts are gospel opportunities, used by local missionaries and churches to witness to and bring countless children to Jesus.
