For thousands of years stories have been beautifully told on a stage. Our Theater classes create a space for students to use their God-given talents to act, sing, and dance in front of live audiences. Drama allows for creativity and imagination to absolutely overflow - skills needed in workplaces, communities, and personal lives.
+ LOWER SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
All Lower School Chorus Club members in 4th-5th grade have the opportunity to audition for acting roles and solos in the annual Lower School Christmas Play. These students attend Wednesday-morning chorus rehearsals as well as Wednesday-afternoon cast rehearsals. For more information, contact Melissa Farr or Jennilee Burton.
+ MIDDLE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
7th and 8th grade students can take the Middle School Theater Class as an elective and audition for parts in the middle school production. Past performances have included shows such as Beauty and the Beast and Annie! For more information, contact Rebekah Teffertiller Alexander.
+ HIGH SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
High School students taking Theater in the fall will compete in the GIAA One Act Play competition and perform their show at LCA. In the spring, theater students perform in a full musical production. Recent performances include Anatomy of Gray, The One Act Play Disaster, Anastasia, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Sound of Music.
