“Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
~ Psalm 150:3-6
At LCA, we believe a strong Band program is truly glorifying to God. Research shows that learning music enhances skills that we all use, including language development, mental math, recognizing patterns, and use of critical thinking and problem solving. Through the study of music, students develop self-discipline, confidence, commitment, responsibility, good decision-making, and a general sense of personal pride.
+ MARCHING BAND
Every fall the Marching Band transforms our football stadium by filling the air with traditional LCA songs as well as new musical selections. The Marching Band rehearses twice a week after school and perform at football games on Friday nights. The Marching Band also attends the Walton County Marching Exhibition & various other competitions throughout the year. Students in 7th-12th grade with at least one year of band experience may sign up for the Upper School Marching Band.
+ CONCERT BAND
All Upper School students are able to sign up for one of the band classes. No prior knowledge in music is necessary! Each band class performs at the LCA Christmas Concert and Spring Concert each year. Students also participate in the ACSI band festival in the spring and have the opportunity to audition for local District Honor Band and All-State Band.
