I knew from a young age that I always wanted to be a teacher. I would play teacher with two older brothers and with all of my dolls. As I went through school, I realized that I wanted to pursue that dream. After graduating from Brewton-Parker College with my degree in middle grades education, I began teaching in 2000. My first job was teaching 6th grade math and social studies in a public school. I loved every bit of it! I remained at the same middle school for nine years. After my first two years of teaching, I moved into a role of only teaching math classes. Math is definitely my favorite subject. I love to be able to have fun with numbers, learn through games, and model to students how they can be confident in math.

In 2009, I resigned from my position at Dacula Middle to stay home full time with my babies. I am thankful for the opportunity to be home for five years while my children were little. During those years, I realized how much I wanted my own children to grow up attending a Christian school. I love public school, but I just wanted more. I wanted to be part of a school that loves, follows, and shares Jesus. I wanted more than just academics, fine arts, and athletics. I think a huge part of education involves children's spiritual growth and development. That is what led my husband and I to look at LCA.

I began teaching 5th grade at LCA in 2014. After four years in the classroom and earning a masters in educational leadership from Walden University, I moved into administration as the lower school assistant principal. I am so thankful that I get to work at LCA. I get the chance every day to impact students' learning both academically and spiritually.
