FINE ARTS

LOWER SCHOOL CHORUS AND BAND

Starting in fourth grade, students are given the exciting opportunity to join either chorus or learn a band instrument. They can choose to explore their vocal talents through chorus or learn to play a musical instrument in band, allowing them to develop a strong foundation in music. This program during music enrichment fosters creativity, teamwork, and self-expression while providing students with the chance to discover their musical interests and grow their skills in a supportive environment.

ART ENRICHMENT

Our Art enrichment class is designed to nurture creativity and develop artistic skills in students from PreK3 through 5th grade. Beginning with the basics and progressing through more advanced concepts, students explore the 7 elements of art, building a strong foundation in visual expression. Through hands-on projects and guided lessons, they learn to apply these elements in imaginative ways. Additionally, some students have the exciting opportunity to have their artwork displayed at the Monroe Art Guild, showcasing their talent and hard work in a professional gallery setting. This experience not only celebrates their achievements but also fosters confidence and a deep appreciation for the arts.

FAITHFUL FOOTSTEPS

“Let everything that has breath praise The LORD!” (Psalm 150:6)  We were created to praise God!  Praise is the outward expression of our inner state of being.  Dance is visible praise and can be presented through a choreographed dance--a ministry dance with a story that includes dramatic overtones.

Interpretive Dance is an expression of prayer or worship through body movement and dance styles.  Such dances are accompanied by many different types of music, and the dancers will respond with an appropriate choreographed piece that flows out of the music and enhances the prayer or worship experience.
