WELCOME TO UPPER SCHOOL

We, at LCA, recognize that in order to educate children of the 21st century for the modern job market, staying current is not sufficient, as today’s current is tomorrow’s obsolete. We teach our students to be innovators by crossing disciplinary boundaries and exploring problems and their solutions from various perspectives. Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide our students with curriculum that evokes creativity, innovation, problem solving, and experience-based inquiry.

We recognize students learn in a variety of ways and have different strengths and weaknesses.  For these reasons, teachers use a variety of teaching methods, strategies, and assessments to spur the student to his or her full potential. To further enhance the curriculum, the iLearn initiatives are implemented based on the appropriateness for each grade level. We hold to the most effective, research-based methods of instruction while also embracing the technology of today.

+ MIDDLE SCHOOL

During the early adolescent years, our qualified and committed teachers guide students through this changing period in life with challenging academic instruction combined with the development of critical thinking skills.

Core subjects include language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and Bible. Electives include performing and visual arts, music, Spanish, and physical education.

Middle School students are encouraged to establish friendships important to self-esteem during several outings throughout the school year. Educational trips reinforce the curricular program as well as opportunities to continue building relationships.

+ HIGH SCHOOL

The college preparatory program is comprised of core courses in addition to a variety of electives. Qualified students may also choose honors, AP or dual enrollment courses. Educational field trips are an important part of the curriculum and may be day trips or overnight trips.

Students are required to take 27.5 credits to graduate. 4 credits are required for english, mathematics, science, and Bible. 3.5 credits are required for social studies. 2 credits are required for foreign language and 1 credit is required for Health/PE and Fine Arts. LCA has a 100% college acceptance rate and routinely earns millions of dollars in college scholarships, not including Hope or Zell.

Many members of the professional staff have at least one graduate degree, and the faculty participates in professional development.
