PowerHouse Kick-Off

This year, Loganville Christian Academy is excited about our brand new Lower School chapel experience for PreK–5th grade called PowerHouse. Mrs. Cheryl Ingle, the program coordinator said, “In PowerHouse we will learn about Jesus. It is Jesus who gives us the power to make good choices throughout our day.”

LCA students will attend PowerHouse twice each month from 8:15–9:00 a.m. on Thursday mornings, and they may wear their PowerHouse T-shirts on those days. The chapel times will start with worship led by students and then focus on four important virtues: wisdom, perseverance, service, and cooperation. Students will be taught from the pages of God’s Word and how to apply those truths to their everyday lives in practical ways.

The first character quality introduced was wisdom: “finding out what you should do and doing it.” During the PowerHouse kick-off, the students were encouraged by Mr. Mark Davis, LCA's campus pastor, to grow in wisdom while they are young, like the Bible says Jesus did at age twelve. And 1 Timothy 4:12 admonishes, “Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.”

Students will memorize Scripture to reinforce what they learn. There is nothing better that a child can do for his or her heart than to hide God’s Word in it. What a blessing to hear the students recite verses, such as, “If anyone needs wisdom, you should ask God for it, and He will give it to you” (James 1:5).
